9th December 2008 - CBN is awarded a £1,000 grant from Lloyds Charities Trust thanks to being nominated by Nick Hassam. Jan and Ann to go to a presentation on that date at Lloyds in London to collect cheque.

17th November 2008 - Cancer Voices Conference run by Macmillan Cancer Support at the Holiday Inn Gatwick, London, UK.

31st October 2008 - Janie's Jewels merges with Cancer Buddies Network. JJ is the forerunner of CBN and was launched by Jan on 17.08.03 hosted by MSN groups. Unfortunately MSN has announced the closure of their Groups from February 2009, so we have decided to merge both groups into one. We therefore exend a hearty welcome to all JJ members and look forward to a wonderful union!

26th October 2008 - Judy Gollop ran 10 miles in the BUPA Great South Run 2008 on behalf of Cancer Buddies Network making a super £328! Bless you Judy !

26th-27th September 2008 - 2nd Charity collection weekend at Sainsburys on the Purley Way, Croydon, Surrey, UK - the final tally for our 2 days thanks to all our volunteers, was a whopping £720! Thank you to everyone involved and to all the people of Croydon for their donations!

14th September 2008 - Jo Rutter & her fiancee Dan ran 10k raising an amazing £590 thanks in part to Dan's company Amec who sponsored them for £250. Fantastic, thanks so much guys!

30th August 2008 - CBN's 2nd Anniversary Party was a fantastic occasion held in Croydon, Surrey, UK. Members can read our reports in the forum (page 2 of this thread) and can also see videos and pictures here. Public visitors can see some photos here. £510 was raised which will be doubled by Barclays Bank plc. Thank you Barclays !

5th August-5th September - UK Supermarket Waitrose Sanderstead ran a draw to decide how to distribute £1,000 between 3 local charities over the month. The customers voted and the money was divided up between them according to the number of votes they each receive. CBN was one of the first three to be asked to take part and received a cheque for £451 which was well and truly in the lead. Thank you Waitrose!

29th July 2008 - CBN goes GLOBAL! From today, Google has extended CBN's free GoogleAds Campaign to cover USA, Canada, Australia and Europe in addition to the UK. Thank you Google !

20th July 2008 - Charity Netball Tournament and Family Fun Day held at Warlingham Sports Club, Church Lane, Warlingham, Surrey, UK where some lovely Barclays Bank Employees raised £254 for CBN - Barclays Bank are matching the amount making a total of £508. Huge thanks to all involved!

11th July 2008 - CBN REACHES 1,000 MEMBERS!

6th July 2008 - Jenny Rutter and fiancee Nick run 10k on behalf of CBN and make over £300, thanks so much guys!

3rd July 2008 - Sharon Kaye does TV Interview in Spain about CBN!

1st July 2008 - Professor Ian Smith MD, FRCP, FRCPE Professor of Cancer Medicine, Royal Marsden Hospitals, London and Surrey, UK, becomes the first Patron of Cancer Buddies Network

1st July 2008 - CBN Scottish Meetup in Edinburgh with Gemsyy, Munchie, Cath & George, and Bobette

27th June 2008 - CBN Cornish Meetup in Cornwall! With Tall Susie, Jinnyfrizz, Tina and her daughter and Cornish

31st May/1st June 2008 - Expo Exhibition, Spain, Sharon Kaye runs CBN Stand 64B

15th May 2008 - Sharon Kaye interviewed on radio in Spain about CBN, programme on Onda Cero International Radio 94.6FM

25th April 2008 - CBN London Meet Up with Cath, George, Laura, Janpurple, Allan Sharon, Hazi, Nikster, Ian, Tessa, Mary, Ricky

13th April 2008 - London Marathon - Grant Lang ran in 3 hours, 37 minutes and 21 seconds donating Over £1,000 to Cancer Buddies Network, bless you and thankyou Grant!

25th-26th January 2008 - CBN's first charity collection weekend at Sainsburys on the Purley Way in Croydon, Surrey, UK is a great success! £520 raised - our deepest thanks to all involved - here's to the next one!
