Am looking forward to seeing CBN grow ten fold, good luck Jan, may it be a real big success for everyone.

Janie, Congratulations on an amazing website. I have just visited it and am really impressed with it. I am sure that this is going to help so many people. It is nice to know that we all don't have to suffer alone. Congratulations again!!!

As an oncologist I see patients and their families who are frightened and worried about the impact that cancer will have on their lives and how it will affect them. From my personal experience I have learnt that patients cope better when they are able to talk about what they are going through and share their experiences with someone who understands. I wholeheartedly support CBN, an exciting new concept in online Cancer Websites.

Congratulations - I'm so pleased after all that hard work and preparation. I wish you every success with Cancer Buddies and I'm really proud of you. Well done.

I joined CBN at the beginning of December 2007. I joined in desperation because my husband had to have his stomach removed because of cancer. I was at my wits end and needed to speak to someone who had experienced the same thing. I did find a Buddy and I can't say how much my Buddy has helped both myself and my husband. Without the understanding and passing on to us the experiences of my Buddy who had the same operation I would still be at square one. We have had help with diet and all the quirky aches and pains that we used to panic about. Now we know all the things that are normal after the operation and during the recovery period. Plus for the first time I felt I wasn't alone, someone understood. This is just to say a big thank you to my 'Best Buddy' and thanks to you all at CBN.

It's good to have somewhere to go to talk and to know there is someone there who understands. It's sometimes hard for friends and family to understand fully and also they are trying to deal with their own feelings, which as I know is hard enough. CBN is a lifeline ... Julie Marie

Showing love and support is very important to families who suffer disruption in their lives, and I believe that positive attitudes and friendship should be encouraged especially at such difficult times. We see how important it is for people to be in touch with others in the same situation and who can empathise so deeply. I wish you the best of luck with your new venture and I am sure it will be very successful.

I found one of the most helpful things is talking to other people who've been through the same thing, I really hope this site takes off as I so much would like to help others who have to face the same journey in the future.

Until I was diagnosed with cancer I didn't really know what the word 'alone' meant even though I'd been single until my forties. Through 'cancerbuddies' I found a buddy who had the same diagnosis and had completed similar treatment - and even at the same hospital. Now that chemotherapy has ended and the operation is drawing near, she is helping me keep on an even keel - and we are even able to make each other laugh! I was told that the treatment would be a long journey - it's a lot easier to make a journey like this with others beside you who have been there before and can be reassuring when everything seems so frightening and overwhelming.

I'm new here and am really looking forward to getting addicted to this site.... I saw an article in the paper about this and am glad I found it. I am about to embark on 7 weeks of chemo and radiotherapy ... I'd love to talk to someone in similar situation.

Getting to know Jan has meant that at my lowest point, I have had access to the most overwhelming support. Every day, when I have needed it, I have been able to talk to someone, anywhere in the world, who can help me understand the emotions thrown up by the cancer, the treatments, and the reasons why certain things happen. We would help each other through the rough times, like after a particularly grueling chemo session, or if you had a check-up that brought bad news. There was no one in my life already who could do that for me.

Well done and congratulations to the team responsible for creating this Cancer Buddies Network.

We are delighted that Jan, who recovered from breast cancer using the Plant Programme dairy free diet, has set up Cancer Buddies to help other sufferers and their families. We are even more delighted that she is linking to Cancer Support International to help you find science based advice on diet and lifestyle to help you complement your orthodox treatment for cancer.
